SUMMARY OF THE JOB:
The School of Nursing Clinical Liaison is responsible for facilitating nursing student clinical placements which includes assessing and anticipating program needs and monitoring the Texas Board of Nursing and Health Care partners' requirements. In addition, this position is responsible for providing administrative support to the School of Nursing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate via email, phone, and/or in-person with nurse educators and/or placement coordinators in hospitals, clinics, or other institutions to develop clinical placements.
- Coordinate with Dean of the School of Nursing and nursing faculty to determine the number of student placements and facility requirements each semester, to include level, and type of experience needed.
- Ensure that the facility contract is current to include all facility requirements.
- Confirm placements with nurse educators and/or placement coordinators in hospitals, clinics, and other institutions by timely follow up communications.
- Communicate confirmed or changed clinical placement agreements with the Dean of the School of Nursing, instructors, campus program coordinators, and students in the nursing program.
- Ensure that students and faculty health records are current and available in a secured location.
- Communicate with all nursing students and faculty on an ongoing basis to ensure that each student is up to date with all requirements.
- Send health record and all other placement requirements of each student to placement coordinator/nurse educator at clinical placement facility, on time, as required by the facility/agency.
- Performs administrative duties for the School of Nursing, which include managing calendars and email; making meeting/event arrangements; preparing reports and purchase orders
- Coordinates School of Nursing term activities – schedules, book orders, supply orders, etc.
- Provide excellent customer service to all departments/employees/students within the university, outside customers and prospective students.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
- Proven experience as an executive assistant or other relevant administrative support experience. Professionalism and confidentiality always required.
- High School Diploma/GED (Some college preferred).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other Web-Based programs.
PREFERRED:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience supporting administrative level personnel.
